Dental Payment Plans
Launceston, Devonport and Burnie

We believe that everyone has the right to access a high standard of orthodontic care when they need it, regardless of their background or income. That's why at The Orthodontic Specialists we offer a choice of payment plans to help make the cost of braces and other orthodontic treatments more affordable.

When you or your child begins treatment with our orthodontists in Launceston, Devonport or Burnie, you'll only have to pay the first instalment on the day. The remainder of the cost can be spread across affordable monthly or fortnightly instalments tailored to your circumstances, so you won't have to delay treatments until later.

We work with two of Australia's leading health finance providers – DentiCare and MiFund – to offer flexible payment plans designed for your individual needs, with convenient direct debit payments and no complicated finance contracts to worry about.

Contact our team today to find out more about our payment options and how they could help you.

Am I eligible for payment plans?

To be eligible for orthodontic payment plans, you must be:

  • an Australian citizen
  • aged 18 or over
  • in employment
  • not in debt
  • not subject to bankruptcy agreements

This covers orthodontics for children and teenagers if you are the one paying for their treatment. You must also be confident that you can afford the regular instalments without this causing financial difficulty.

What do payment plans cover?

We offer payment plans for all orthodontic treatments at our clinics in Burnie, Devonport and Launceston. This includes:

  • traditional braces
  • ceramic braces
  • Invisalign®
  • Forsus™ appliances

We'll give you all the information you need about treatment costs during your consultation so you can choose the most appropriate orthodontic solution for your needs and circumstances.

How do payment plans work?

If you want to use a payment plan to manage the cost of your orthodontic treatment, our team will explain the options we offer so you can decide which plan is the best fit for you.

We'll help you to set up a personalised payment plan with one of our trusted providers and your instalments will be automatically paid from your bank account or credit card every month or fortnightly, depending on the type of plan you choose and what's convenient for you.

DentiCare payment plans

  • 0% interest
  • No contracts or credit checks
  • Pay over 3 to 24 months
  • Simple direct debit payments

DentiCare orthodontic payment plans are designed specifically for the needs of dental and orthodontic patients. These interest-free payment plans help thousands of people all over Australia to afford the care they need.

Unlike most dental payment plans, DentiCare does not require background checks and you won't have to wait for approval. You also won't pay any interest, no matter how long your repayment period is – just the cost of your treatment.

How does DentiCare work?

Step 1

Your orthodontist will give you a quote for your treatment and discuss the payment options we offer to help you manage the cost.

Step 2

You decide what repayment period and frequency suits your circumstances, and how much you want to pay as a deposit.

Step 3

Fill out a simple one-page direct debit form. This is an instruction to your bank or credit card company to pay regular instalments to DentiCare until the cost of your treatment has been covered.

Step 4

You or your child can begin your treatment and only pay the first instalment and deposit on the day.

How does MiFund work?

Step 1

Your orthodontist will give you a quote for your treatment plan and discuss the payment options available. If you choose a MiFund plan, our clinic will help you to choose the most suitable repayment terms and we'll calculate your repayment quote.

Step 2

If you're happy with your repayment amount and frequency, our staff will give you a unique SMS link. You can use this to apply for a payment plan through the MiFund website on your phone, computer or other device.

Step 3

Complete the short online application and provide the additional information required for approval. Your private information can only be viewed by MiFund and no other parties.

Step 4

If your MiFund payment plan is approved, you can have your treatment and only pay the first instalment and deposit (if required).

Payment plans FAQ

You will be notified about payment dates when you complete your direct debit form. Payments may be made any time from midnight on the morning of this date.

You can use payment plans whether or not you have health insurance. If you're using your health fund to cover part of your treatment, you can use a payment plan to pay the remaining gap.

If you or your child need additional treatments, we will usually be able to add this to your existing payment plan, but it may affect the repayment terms.

You can make lump sum payments outside of your scheduled repayments if you want to pay off your outstanding balance. There are no fees or penalties for early repayment.
